I had an exciting opportunity to create a brand and visual identity to support a selfless friend who goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Chase was born and raised in Wisconsin; The heart of the Mid-West and a premier destination for hunting trophy White-tailed deer. He is well… all about the Chase! From mapping out common deer routes for deer sheds, to collaborating with cutting edge hunting gear, “The Outdoors” is what he loves most.

Creating a brand for a passionate hunter.

Visual Research

The goal with this logo was to create something that encompasses his main interests: bow hunting(arrowheads in particular), antler sheds, and the hunt. It had to feel tailored, have a sense of movement, and pay tribute to the traditional “western”, and grounded blue-collar feel.

I started with visual research, digging into the outdoor audience, brands and markets. It was key for the logo to reflect Chase’s interests, be versatile for different kinds of outdoor adventures and interests, while staying simply effective across multiple kinds of touch points.

Bullseye

Something charming transpired as I translated my sketches into digital vectors. The logo came full circle (pun intended!), with the representation of the target or a “bullseye” and the “C” in the icon. A great step in the right direction.

As the logo came into focus, the brand strategy fell into place along with visual assets. From first introduction of Chase the Outdoors on social media, there are tracks one can follow every step of the way. Apparel, packaging, and last but not least- frames and visuals for his YouTube channel.
